You recommended a non-skid pad to put under the floorcloths. Where can I find it and what do I look for?

Vantage Industries makes non-skid pads that are available at Lowe's Home Improvement and Ace Hardware stores. Be sure to buy the ones that are for use on hard surfaces only, not under or over carpet. There are other good products at almost any home improvement store, but make sure it states on the package that it is used for rugs on hard surfaces. Avoid pads that have a large-opening weave; choose a more solid-weave pad. Cut the non-skid pad about an inch smaller than the dimension of your rug, place it down on a clean surface and then place your rug on top of the pad.
My floorcloth is showing signs of wear. What should I do to renew it?

If you notice some wear and some scratches on you floorcloth, you can wash it with a mild soap solution and put on a coat or two of water-based polyurethane. Place your floorcloth, table runnner or placemat horizontally on a flat, level surface and follow the polyurethane manufacturer's directions. Apply thin coats to avoid leaving streaks and "blobs". Use a good quality water-based polyurethane that does not dry with a yellow or amber color, or it will no longer show the true colors of your product. Some floorcloth sites recommend that you do this every year, but it depends greatly on the amount of traffic your floorcloth experiences. With normal use, recoating it with polyurethane every few years is sufficient.
Are there locations where it's NOT a good idea to use a floorcloth?

Floorcloths should not be used where there is constant moisture or high humidity. Placement in a kitchen is acceptable as long as liquid spills are not allowed to sit on it for extended periods of time. It's also recommended that if you use a floorcloth to cover concrete floors, that the cement is sealed or stained and the floorcloth does not sit on raw concrete. Anti-skid pads are highly recommended. Floorcloths are great for entryways, but should never be used outdoors.
